Jazz: Spirituals, Prayer and Protest Concert

MSU’s annual commemorative concert and presentation celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will also include a special tribute to Detroit’s very own Aretha Franklin, featuring memorable tunes from Motown. The program was curated by the newly formed College of Music Color Me Music student organization.

The concert is one of the main events of the university-wide MLK Day celebration themed “Free Speech: Constitutional Right vs. Respectful Discourse” in 2019.

Free tickets are available over the phone at 517-353-5340 or for pick-up from the College of Music main office (333 W. Circle Drive, East Lansing) Monday throught Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
