Health, Safety and Wellness

Our number one priority is health and safety with a focus on ensuring students progress academically.


This section of pages is intended to provide information specific to the health and safety of students, faculty and staff in the College of Music. Links are included to College of Music and MSU policies for attending public events and procedures that apply to everyone on campus. Students should review these pages. If specific questions or concerns remain after doing so, messages may be sent to associate deans. 

Students should pay close attention to email. Notifications and updates may be sent during the semester. Consult with your primary faculty for specific issues related to your area. Visit the Student Bulletin page for past messages.

CAPS: The Counseling and Psychiatric Services office on campus is available to all MSU students. Click the link to visit their page for full information. CAPS is also providing remote crisis services 24/7/365. If you or another student/friend is in crisis and needs to talk with someone, call CAPS Crisis Line at (517) 355-8270 and press “1” when prompted to speak with a crisis counselor. You will be connected to a confidential, no-charge counselor available to assist you with connecting to a variety of services and resources.
