MSU Opera Theatre presents two fully staged and costumed productions each season. MSU Symphony Orchestra performs in the pit.

Sung in English, this opera is a lampoon of the ancient legend of Orpheus and Eurydice. In this version, Orpheus is not the son of Apollo but rather a rustic violin teacher. See and hear this comedic look at the Orpheus legend that goes from Earth to Olympus to the best party of all in Hades!

Written in Mozart’s final year of life, this dramatic opera tells the story of Roman Emperor Tito, who after being betrayed by his friend and the woman he has chosen to marry, must struggle with the internal battle between vengeance and mercy.
