Ensemble Auditions 2020-2021
As outlined in a letter to students on August 3 and in response to questions received regarding large ensemble participation during the coming semester, the College of Music has put in place a series of health and safety protocols based on the recommendations emanating from the latest scientific and medical research. We believe that these mitigation measures will make for safe, in-person rehearsals.
Students have the right to decide on the type of ensemble experience that is best for them at this time. For those who have a curricular requirement to participate in an ensemble, an alternative online course will be offered. If you choose to opt out of an in-person experience in favor of a virtual one, you will not be penalized. You will still receive academic credit (if required) and there will be no adjustment to your scholarship or GA. Similarly, anyone with an ensemble requirement tied to scholarship or GA may opt out of in-person ensemble participation with no adjustment of funding and without any obligation to participate virtually.
Regardless of whether you choose the in-person ensemble or the alternative virtual class YOU MUST STILL PARTICIPATE IN THE AUDITION PROCESS.
Students who are eligible to overide ensemble auditions can submit the google form linked here. (note you must be logged in as a student)
