Professor of Violin Walter Verdehr, Professor Emeritus of Piano Ralph Votapek.
Composer and violinist James Niblock taught theory and composition at MSU for 37 years.

This event will feature violin and chamber music in honor of the 100th birthday of James Niblock.

The program will feature James Niblock’s “Soliloquy” for solo violin and strings. Leon Gregorian, former director of orchestras at MSU Music, will conduct this work. The performance will also include Brahms Piano Quintet, with Ralph Votapek, piano; Yuri Gandelsman, viola; Walter Verdher, violin; Gregory Maytan, professor of violin at Grand Valley State University; and Nathaniel Pierce, cello.
