This concert will feature three chamber group finalists of the first annual Barbara Wagner Chamber Competition, selected by a panel of judges to present their concert program as they compete for first, second and third place. Poised for the next step in their careers, musicians will take the stage before a distinguished panel of external jurors and showcase their artistry to the audience.
The full competition includes rising stars from the MSU College of Music, a variety of artists and groups who are among the very best chamber musicians in the voice, strings, winds, percussion, and piano areas.
A semifinals competition held Friday, April 10 will determine the top three competitors. The morning of April 11 will include a master class, free and open to the public, which features artists and groups who did not advance to the final concert.
