The music education program is led by nationally recognized teacher-scholars whose research informs their teaching and the field. Their expertise spans creativity, social justice, early childhood, choral music education, and policy studies.
All successful applicants are considered for merit-based scholarships. Graduate applicants can also compete for assistantships, fellowships, and scholarships without a supplemental application. The conducting faculty ensures all students develop their abilities with voice, winds, percussion, and strings, regardless of their primary focus.
At Michigan State University, students can pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Music Education. These programs provide comprehensive training and opportunities for aspiring music educators at all levels.
