Visiting Our Campus

The best way to get a feel for the College of Music and to learn more about our programs is to schedule a visit. Your visit will include an Information Session and Building Tour with our Music Admissions staff who can answer your questions regarding our programs, admission requirements, auditions, and financial aid. During the fall and spring semesters, we can arrange for you to sit in on classes and rehearsals, attend a recital or ensemble performance, and meet with our faculty and current students.

College of Music Information Sessions and Building Tours

Mondays and Fridays, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Fall and Spring semesters (September through April, except during holiday or other university closures)

To sign up for a visit…

• Select the button below and scroll down to the College of Music section.
• If there is no availability on our Information Session calendar for the date you plan to visit, please reach out to the College of Music Admissions Office by phone (517-355-2140) or email (music.admissions@msu.edu) to see what alternative options we may have for you. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours’ advanced notice.
• Visits can be scheduled weekdays during normal business hours.
• Although Admissions personnel are available to meet with you during summer, class/ensemble observation and faculty/student meetings are usually not possible.

Schedule time with a faculty member

While Admissions staff can arrange meetings with faculty members, feel free to reach out to faculty directly and then contact the Music Admissions Office to arrange a visit day. Faculty members are often willing to meet with you during your visit, depending on availability.
