Conducting

The MSU College of Music offers Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in conducting in the orchestral, winds, and choral areas. Courses take the form of graduate seminars, lessons, and practices with ensembles in all areas.

Earn a master's degree in three summers


You can complete a Master of Music degree in choral conducting at Michigan State University’s College of Music in three summers. Courses are taught by Dr. David Rayl and Dr. Jonathan Reed and are offered during the College of Music Summer Session (June through August). Workshops and seminars, which can also be taken for degree credit, are offered during the preceding two weeks (June). Fellowships are available for out-of-state students on a limited, competitive basis.

A schedule of courses for Summer 2010 will be available by February 1.
