Trio de Cámara' tours to South America and Puerto Rico

The MSU student ensemble "Trio de Cámara" received the rare opportunity to venture on an international tour, in which they performed at Palacio Chico in La Paz, Bolivia, and at the University of Puerto Rico. Trio members include Amanda McCandless, clarinet, Mi Jung Choe, piano, and Joel Pagan, viola. The group also presented master classes at the Bolivia National Conservatory and the Ernesto Ramos Antonini School of Music in Puerto Rico.

The tour was made possible through a travel grant funded by MSU's School of Music, College of Arts and Letters and Graduate School, in addition to a grant from the National Conservatory of Music in Bolivia, and the University of Puerto Rico.

"The trip was an extraordinary learning experience for us. Not only did we learn a lot about the cultures we experienced, but, more importantly, how to function and perform well on an 11-day tour," said McCandless.
