The musical drama O! Freedom! tells the remarkable true story of John W. Jones (1817-1900), a fugitive slave, and his heroic rise to prominence in Elmira, New York. It was performed by Jack Waddell and the MSU Chorale.
William David Brohn, Tony® Award winning orchestrator for Broadway and movies; composer; arranger; MSU music theory graduate (’55), presented a master class themed “Future of Musical Theatre.” He also co-arranged 12 traditional spirituals in haunting new a capella arrangements for soloist and choir for O!
