Music in the Garden: Spartan Jazz
Venue: W.J. Beal Botanical Garden
Pull up a blanket or chair at the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden and enjoy the ambience of music and garden flora during MSU’s free outdoor concert series featuring MSU College of Music chamber groups. Free tours of the garden will begin approximately one hour prior to the concert.
Experience the music of Spartan Student Jazz Ensemble. Enjoy the toe-tapping rhythms and sweet sounds from a select group of MSU Jazz Studies students as they perform a range of soul, swing, blues and straight-ahead jazz repertoire.
Join curator Peter Carrington in an exploration of the history and biology of the largest residents of the W. J. Beal Botanical Garden. With some dating back more than a century, these are some of the oldest living witnesses to the history of the historic north campus. Garden tours will take place immediately following the concert.
The MSU Food Truck and Dairy Store ice cream will be on site for the audience to enjoy.
