2017 Muelder Summer Carillon Series

Carol Jickling-Lens began her carillon study with Beverly Buchanan at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, MI in 1966. In 1971 she continued her studies at the University of Michigan with Hudson Ladd. From 1972 to 1974 she attended the Netherlands Carillon School in Amersfoort where she studied with Leen't Hart and received both the practical and end diplomas. She has been a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) since 1971 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1996, serving one four-year term. From 1994-99 she was a judge, then Chairperson of the GCNA Examination Committee and has been a judge again since 2010. She is also Chair of the Nomination Committee. She was invited to play two GCNA Congress recitals and has played guest recitals from coast to coast in the US. In addition to recitals in England and the Netherlands, Lens has had the good fortune to play in St. Petersburg, Russia and at Hyechon College in Taejon near Seoul, South Korea. Lens has also been a piano teacher on three continents for more than 30 years.
