MSU Opera Theatre and Symphony Orchestra presented Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Marriage of Figaro

The Michigan State University College of Music presented Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's popular comic opera Marriage of Figaro. The opera, which was performed in English, featured many of Mozart's most memorable arias, including "Non più andrai" and "Porgi amor," all sung in English. The production was authentically staged, with lavish costumes and sets.

The Marriage of Figaro was supported by the Michigan State University Chamber Orchestra (Leon Gregorian, Musical Director) under the baton of Raphael Jimenez, Associate Conductor of MSU Orchestras and Assistant Professor of Conducting. Dr. Jimenez was recently guest conductor of the Orchestra Puerto Rico and the Venezuelan Ballet Company in Caracas, Venezuela, for Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet. He also conducted 21 performances of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet during December with both the Palm Beach Ballet Company in Florida and the Caracas Ballet Company in Venezuela. He is the principal conductor for both ballet companies.
