MSU Choral Society

The MSU Choral Society was founded in 1987, shortly after the formation of the MSU Choral Union. The MSU Choral Society Constitution states the society is "a not-for-profit, unincorporated society whose purpose is to be a support or 'friends' organization for Michigan State University's choral music program." The Choral Society will seek to raise funds for this purpose through dues, grants, gifts, sponsorship of musical events, and social activities. Such funds will be made available for scholarships in choral conducting and other program-related purposes as determined by the society's board of directors. Since 1989 the Choral Society has financially assisted more than 37 MSU choral students.

Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting choral music. The membership year is from October 1 to September 30. Please make checks payable and send to MSU Choral Society, Mimi Lalonde, Membership Chair, 1513 E. Kalamazoo St., Lansing, 48912. Please include AE0611 on the memo line of your check.

Membership and donor levels are as follows:

Past activities have included a biannual banquet and silent auction, a "Sing-along with the Sound of Music" program, a wine-tasting event, theater trips, and casual informational gatherings and dialogues prior to Choral Union performances.
