Director of Orchestras

Beginning Fall 2012

POSITION: Director of Orchestras

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide artistic direction for a major college orchestral program and lead a graduate level conducting program of national and international prominence

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant professional conducting experience
  • Ability to provide artistic vision and inspiration
  • Experience as a teacher of conducting
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience

APPOINTMENT: Salary and rank commensurate with background and experience

  • Academic year appointment will be in the tenure system
  • Position is available August 16, 2012

Faculty Position in Voice

Beginning Fall 2011

POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor of Voice (Baritone or Bass)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate and graduate voice majors

  • Perform as a soloist and collaborative artist
  • Maintain visibility as a performer, teacher, and recruiter at the state
  • and national levels
  • Teach courses in diction, vocal literature, and/or vocal pedagogy as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree and/or equivalent performance experience at the professional level
  • Evidence of successful recruiting and studio teaching at the university level desirable

APPOINTMENT: Assistant/Associate Professor

  • Academic year appointment will be in the tenure system
  • Position is available August 16, 2011
